The Annual Governor's Conference on Tourism is scheduled for February 2, 2010 at the Augusta Civic Center. We invite you to join us as a sponsor of this singular event dedicated to Maine's largest industry, tourism. This year's theme, "The Maine Experience," will give attention to the unique qualities that make Maine a world-class vacation destination and a desirable place to live and work.
Tourism is a $13 billion industry, supporting more than 140,000 jobs in Maine, making it an integral part of Maine's economy and your business. Tourism's broad reach helps keep our historical and cultural sites vibrant and alive, and creates recreational opportunities for residents and visitors alike. It contributes to the conservation, protection and sustainability of our natural wonders and it provides education and career opportunities for our children. Tourism contributes millions of dollars to Maine's general fund to support education, social and natural resource programs.
Our goal is to continue to grow the industry, particularly through strengthening strategic partnerships and alliances. The Governor's Conference is an opportunity to support the businesses that make this industry vibrant.

The Maine Governor’s Conference on Tourism provides
professional development sessions, valuable networking, and the opportunity
to meet with tourism professionals. It is the only statewide event of
its kind and attendees are from all segments of the tourism industry.
The conference offers the exchange of ideas and best practices that
benefit our state's most vital and valuable industry. The success and
growth of this conference is indicative of a cohesive industry that
strives for excellence.
The cost for the conference and lunch is $50 per attendee. The awards dinner is $50 per attendee. Combined total for both days - $100 per attendee.
The conference is a project of the Maine Office of Tourism and the
Maine Tourism Commission, and is made possible with the support of our many sponsors.
